Areas of focus

The work I do most

A selection of the themes that come up most often. Your reasons for reaching out don't need to fit neatly into one of these.

01

Trauma & abuse

Trauma-informed therapy for processing complex and relational trauma, including childhood abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.

02

Men's mental health

A grounded space to talk about pressure, identity, and the things men are often taught not to say out loud — without performance and without judgement.

03

Anxiety & burnout

Practical tools for the physiological and mental toll of chronic stress, plus space to look at the patterns underneath.

04

Depression & low mood

Working with how depression shows up day-to-day, and the patterns and meaning underneath.

About Caleb

A grounded, trauma-informed practice in Vancouver.

Hi, I'm Caleb, a Registered Clinical Counsellor in Vancouver passionate about helping you reconnect with your authentic self. Raised in a first-generation immigrant family here in BC, I grew up attuned to how cultural identity, belonging, and family dynamics shape mental health — often in ways that go unnoticed. After six years thriving in tourism consulting in Australia, my own powerful experiences in therapy brought me home to pursue a Master's in Counselling Psychology from Adler University. That journey inspired me to create the same safe, transformative space for others.

Grounded in person-centred principles, I draw on IFS, EMDR, and somatic and mindfulness techniques to collaboratively explore and unburden protective or wounded parts — with compassion and without judgment. For couples, I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method tools to help partners understand their relational patterns, deepen emotional connection, and build lasting bonds. I specialize in complex trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, toxic shame, dysfunctional family patterns, and challenges around identity and belonging — always through a multicultural, intergenerational lens.

If this resonates, reach out for a free 20-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit. I'd be honoured to walk alongside you.

Approach

How I work

A few of the frameworks I draw from — adapted to each person, not applied off a shelf.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS helps you get to know the different parts of yourself — especially the ones that are hurting or overworking — so you can heal from the inside out.

Eye-Motion Desensitization and Processing (EMDR)

EMDR is a structured therapy that uses bilateral stimulation — typically eye movements — to help the brain reprocess distressing memories so they lose their emotional charge.

Emotion-Focused Therapy

For noticing, naming, and working with emotions instead of around them.

Culturally responsive practice

Grounded in the understanding that identity, culture, and systems shape mental health.

The space

Avery Therapy Centre

Located in the heart of Gastown, Avery Therapy Centre is a vibrant meeting place where clients can come in to speak openly — a space that holds both the energy of the city and a sense of quiet refuge from it. Natural light filters through the windows, and the atmosphere is warm and unhurried, inviting you to arrive exactly as you are. Whether you're walking in for the first time or returning for another session, the intention is the same: to offer a place where honest conversation can take root and something real can begin.
